Zelda: Ocarina Of Time is back. Nintendo has completely remade the classic for Switch 2

One of gaming’s most celebrated adventures is getting a second life, and this time, an entirely new generation can experience it with modern visuals.

Nintendo has released a complete remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo Switch 2, bringing the classic adventure back nearly three decades after its original debut.

First released on Nintendo 64 in 1998, Ocarina of Time became one of the most influential video games ever made, helping establish many of the mechanics that would define 3D action-adventure games.

The story follows Link, a young hero who travels through the kingdom of Hyrule on a mission to stop Ganondorf and protect the land.

Along the way, players explore dungeons, solve puzzles, meet memorable characters and use music to influence the world around them.

Now, Nintendo has rebuilt the experience for a modern console.

The remake features redesigned environments, improved character models, orchestral music and smoother gameplay.

Players can move and jump more freely, use updated camera controls and explore locations featuring additional visual details.

For the first time, major story sequences also include fully voiced characters and expanded dialogue.

But Nintendo hasn’t completely abandoned what made the original game special.

The remake maintains the main story, its recognizable locations and the core adventure that helped turn Ocarina of Time into a gaming landmark.

The release is part of Nintendo’s celebrations marking the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda franchise.

It also arrives at a time when remakes have become increasingly important to the gaming industry, allowing classic titles to reach audiences who may never have owned the original consoles.

For longtime players, the return offers nostalgia with modern technology.

For younger gamers, it’s an opportunity to discover why a game released in 1998 still appears in conversations about the greatest video games of all time.

And yes, you’ll be hearing that ocarina again.
