Rabat apparently really wants its Michael Jackson moment.
“This Is Michael,” a live tribute show dedicated to the King of Pop, is coming to the Théâtre Royal de Rabat on October 29, and the most expensive ticket categories have already sold out.
The show is led by Lenny Jay, a performer known for recreating Michael Jackson’s look, voice and stage presence. The production also includes dancers, live musicians, costumes and a setlist built around some of Jackson’s biggest songs, including “Thriller,” “Billie Jean,” “Beat It” and “Smooth Criminal.”
So no, it is not a hologram and it is definitely not Michael Jackson himself.
It is a full tribute production built to recreate the feeling of one of his concerts.
What makes the Rabat date interesting is the demand.
Tickets were listed across several categories, with the top seats reaching 1,500 MAD, and those premium sections are already gone.
That means people were willing to pay serious money for the full experience.
And honestly, that says a lot about how strong Michael Jackson’s legacy still is.
For Gen Z, he is an artist many people never saw live but still know through TikTok clips, dance videos, family playlists and songs that somehow keep surviving every new generation.
For older fans, it is pure nostalgia.
For everyone else, it is basically a chance to hear the hits in a theatre full of people who already know every move.
Rabat clearly said if the real thing is impossible, the closest version will do.
